Assess and improve SQL performance

Remote SQL performance assessment and targeted improvements for organisations worldwide, based on the workload, configuration and agreed constraints.

What the work covers

Find the constraint, then improve what matters

Symptom and workload capture, baseline measurement, query and index review, resource constraints, prioritised recommendations, controlled changes, regression checks and results. We do not promise a fixed speed increase.

Before-and-after figures are used only when the workloads and conditions are comparable. A single query time is not treated as the whole story.

Assessment focus

What we examine in a SQL review

  • Workload

Which queries and jobs matter to the business outcome.

  • Plans and indexes

Execution plans, indexes and obvious design bottlenecks.

  • Resources

CPU, memory, I/O and configuration constraints in scope.

  • Baseline

Comparable measurements before any change is recommended.

  • Priorities

Ordered recommendations with risk and effort noted.

  • Regression checks

Confirm improvements against the agreed workload after changes.

How the work runs

Capture, baseline, improve, verify

  1. Capture

We record symptoms, access and the workloads that matter.

  2. Baseline

We measure under agreed conditions before recommending change.

  3. Improve

We apply controlled, reversible changes where you approve them.

  4. Verify

We compare results to the baseline for the same workload.

Questions

Common questions about SQL assessments

What access is required?

Enough access to review plans, waits and configuration for the instance in scope, usually with a DBA or system owner present for production changes.

Can you assess production safely?

Yes, using read-oriented review first. Changes are scheduled and reversible where possible. We do not run unbounded tests against production without approval.

Do you work with existing databases?

Yes. Most work is on systems you already run, not a new platform.

How are improvements measured?

Against the baseline we captured: duration, resource use or throughput for the agreed workload.
